The lyrical-light soprano, born in Darmos (Tarragona), entered the world of art with dance (classical and Spanish), piano and choral singing. At the age of 14 she began her singing studies and, at 16, she made her first appearance in a contemporary opera at the Teatre Nacional de Catalunya (TNC). Since then, she continued her training until obtaining a degree in Singing and Interpretation at the Liceu Conservatory of Barcelona.
The soprano made her operatic debut in 2013 at the Rossini Opera Festival, playing the role of Folleville (Il Viaggio a Reims).

El Festival Castell de Peralada és un clàssic de l'estiu de l'Empordà i una de les cites més atractives pel públic melòman, on troba grans concerts en un entorn ple d'història i una àmplia oferta gastronòmica i turística. L'Església del Carme de Peralada serà l'escenari on la Sara Blanch retrà un homenatge a Gioachino Rossini, el cigne de Pesaro, amb un recital d'àries de les seves òperes com Adina, Aureliano in Palmira o Il Signor Bruschino. Estarà acompanyada pel baríton italià Paolo Bordogna, un dels millors buffi de la seva generació, i junts cantaran "Dunque io son" d'Il barbiere di Siviglia i "Credete alle femmine" de Il turco in Italia. Als dos solistes els acompanyarà el mestre italià Giulio Zappa.
In 2024 the Italian city of Pesaro is the main cultural axis of the country due to its appointment as Italian Capital of Culture. The edition of the Rossini Opera Festival will therefore be special, and Sara Blanch will participate on three occasions: in a cantata, with her own recital and in an opera. The cantata is Il Vero Omaggio, where he will play the role of Argene in the company of Victoria Yarovaya, Ruzil Gatin and Alejandro Baliñas, with musical direction by Giulio Cilona. The opera is Il viaggio a Reims, which will be offered in concert form forty years after the first performance conducted by Claudio Abbado, with the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI conducted by Diego Matheuzi and the live screening in the Piazza del Popolo of Pesaro.
Catalan soprano Sara Blanch is set to debut at one of the world's most renowned opera houses, La Scala in Milan, in September 2024. She will take on the role of Tibrino in Antonio Cesti's opera L'Orontea, one of the most performed operas of the 17th century, known for its seductive immediacy and captivating arias. After falling into oblivion until its rediscovery in the mid-20th century, L'Orontea is now experiencing a resurgence in popularity. This new production by La Scala features stage direction by Robert Carsen and musical direction by Giovanni Antonini. Joining Blanch in the cast are renowned singers Stéphanie d'Oustrac, Mirco Palazzi, Francesca Pia Vitale, and countertenor Carlo Vistoli, making his La Scala debut.
Sara Blanch has been invited by the renowned conductor Teodor Currentzis to take part as a soloist in the Rameau concert that the Greek will present with his orchestra and choir, musicAeterna, at the Salzburg Festival. Under the title “The sound of light”, the soprano will sing excerpts of the operas Hyppolite et Aricie, Dardanus and Castor et Pollux. Blanch will thus accept the challenge of diving into the Baroque repertoire in one of the most prestigious stages in the world.
Sara Blanch debuts at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino with three performances, Symphony no. 4 by Gustav Mahler directed by James Colon, the opera by Luigi Cherubini Lo sposo di tre, e marito di nessuna with stage direction by Cesare Lievi and musical direction by Diego Fasolis, and the opera Orphée et Eurydice by Christoph Willibald Gluck with Daniele Gatti as musical director and Pierre Audi as stage director.
The association L'Instant Lyrique organizes lyric recitals in unique spaces in Paris and other places in France. On this occasion, Sara Blanch will accompany the Mexican tenor Arturo Chacón-Cruz and the pianist Antoine Palloc in a repertoire of arias and opera duets in the Salle Gaveau in Paris, a concert hall of the early twentieth century dedicated especially to chamber music and recitals of piano and voice.
Sara Blanch plays Matilda in Rossini's opera Matilda di Shabran which the NAXOS label has recently released. It is a recording made at the Festival Rossini in Bad Wildbad, Germany, with the full interpretation of the original score premiered in Rome in 1821 under the baton of Paganini. This is the full cast of the recording: Michele Angelini, Sara Blanch, Shi Zong, Victoria Yarovaya, Emmanuel Franco, Giulio Mastrototaro, Ricardo Seguel, the Passionart Orchestra and the Gorecki Chamber Choir, with the conduction of José Miguel Pérez-Sierra.
